Bonjour! Welcome to the FrenchVoice Over website! I'm an American living in Arizona in the U.S. I moved to the "Grand Canyon State"
in 1991 from Baltimore, MD, where I was born and raised and since then, I have had my taste of all things media-related, such as being
a radio personality, being a narrator, a voice over artist ( voix off ), an announcer ( présentateur ) for live shows, a TV spokesperson
( porte-parole ), working in film, and even being a newspaper and magazine reporter! It was there in Arizona that I met my beautiful
wife, who comes from Europe and does indeed speak a bit of French.
For a few years, she has pushed me to promote myself across
the pond, and finally here I am! I remeber traveling to Paris for a few days in 2008. It was one of the best trips I can remember.
Everything was beautiful, the people were friendly and the cuisine was out of this world! I love the history, the countryside, the
hustle and bustle of the cities, proximity to other nations/cultures and most of all, the people.
Want to get into voice over
and narrator ( narrateur ) work? Though you may think it too tough or daunting, but as an American, I can say it was quite easy, and
it probably will be for you also. The main thing is always perfect your craft and never stop! There exists millions of people out
there with a great voice, but there are more talents out there than there are available jobs. The competition is great for voice over
voix off voiceover narrateur announcer presentateur and narrator work. It is not the quality of your voice when you're a voice talent,
per se, that may get you a gig but rather the quality of your delivery and your ability to deliver different voix off or narrateur
styles. It never happens overnight. Having a good audio business normally takes 5-10 years to build up the clients and track record
you need for porte-parole or presentateur or narrateur or voice over. Another big factor is a lot of marketing and promoting of yourself.
As far as the equipment, it won't cost you much ... as little as $2,000 (U.S. dollars). Or, you can rent studio time. If you're looking
to break in to the industry, good luck! You can do it. Just remember ... voice over pracftice makes perfect voix off!
